The Most Beautiful Movie Ever Made

Look at Catherine Deneuve's grommeted gloves! Every frame of this film is pure, ethereal genius.

If I was forced into exile on a deserted island, I'd take this movie, probably before taking a boyfriend. It hits every important theme - beauty, mortality, infinity. Perfect couples...

Vintage Adolfo

Is anyone else as mad about him as I am? Adolfo Sardina interpreted Chanel and reached thousands of American women. I recently scored this vintage silk blouse, along with a pattern. Can't wait to make the jacket and pair it with vintage jeans!

Bleu Nature

Lately I've been trying to figure out how to turn a mid-century generic apartment (that is quite ugly) into a Calvin Klein/Bleu Nature wonderland. Any ideas? I'm going for a serene space with an organic feel. Bleu Nature seems ripe for a fun DIY project. Stay tuned.

Sigrid de l'Epine

Beautiful, strong, chic. Sigrid. Her hair is a character unto itself and the cigarette, well, it deserves an assistant. I'm waiting for a little bird to fly over and land on it.

Welcome...to my blog.

I haven't figured out exactly what it's going to be about (despite the fancy title).

DIY - Roland Mouret

Many of you probably remember Mouret's iconic dress of 2007. While I adore it, and his obvious love of a woman's curves, I found myself wondering -- is it possible to be both classic and edgy? Could this silhouette be pushed/accessorized without losing touch with its past and yet speaking to the future? Schizophrenic? Thoughts? Wonder how Erin Wasson would wear it off the runway...? In that spirit, I made my own dress, in a rough toothed wool, lined in Prada silk.

I think it could be styled in a more daring way, but I haven't figured out how. Here's an example of how changing geometry and styling results in a completely different dress.

Instead of following the body's line, this dress makes up its own architecture. A bold shoe always helps.

Vast. Serene. Infinity.

This photograph has been inspiring me ever since I saw it a year ago. Someday, I WILL get there. In the meantime, I need to create an outfit inspired by it.
